PIV take over Forms. Through their expertly-curated label and event series, the tight-knit crew have quickly earned a place at the heart of Amsterdam’s electronic scene. Inspired by the 90s-era US house sound, the team have forged their own distinct identity that’s indebted to the much-loved style. For their showcase with us, they invite two certified pioneers of the style: Mood II Swing. Active since the early 90s, the New York duo were responsible for laying the foundations of the Big Apple’s house movement. In recent years many of their deep-as-you-like house and garage cuts have been reissued and played by today’s generation of DJs, which shows their enduring influence on the scene today. This February, the deep house pioneers make their debut with us. They’re joined by two PIV staples, Chris Stussy & Prunk. The Dutch duo take inspiration from the warmth and depth of classic Chicago house, a sound that can be heard best in their joint DJ performances. James Dexter also lands. With a string of releases on labels like Cyclic, Bondage Music and his own Inermu, the UK artist has spent the last few years honing his own minimalist style of deep house. Our resident Jaden Thompson also joins. Outside of his regular dates with us, Thompson has recently won the support of a number of key figures in the scene, and with his ongoing studio work for labels like Cuttin’ Headz, he’s shown he has a promising future ahead. Also repping our camp is Tommy Vercetti, whose most recent work has been picked up by the No Art label. A staunch lover of early 90s garage house, Vercetti crafts his own classic-meets-modern interpretation of the style. PIV signees DJOKO and Sucasa debut with us to round off the bill.
